Zoila was born in Florida, Colombia on July 17, 1939. She married the love of her life, Manuel F. Zapata on July 4, 1959. Together they raised five children. Zoila is survived by her husband, her children: Manuel (Zetty), Katherine Morris (William), Juan Carlos (Arlene), Monica De La Cruz (Rafael), Roberto (Clarissa), her twelve grandchildren: Lauren, Thomas, Kenneth Preston Jr., Christine, Rachel, David Morris, Matthew Morris, Samuel, Harith, Jefferson De La Cruz, Yasmine De La Cruz, and Catalina, her sister Martha Yale (John), brother Adalberto Quintero and her nephew Patrick Yale who she also considered as a grandson. She was predeceased by her mother Maria Cruz Quintero, father Roberto Garcia, stepfather Alberto Quintero and brother Fanor Garcia Mora.

Zoila and Manuel moved to New York in 1972 and became United States Citizens. She was an amazing homemaker and worked for many years, including at NBTY, an American manufacturer of vitamins and supplements in Bohemia, NY. After retirement, Zoila and Manuel lived in New Jersey for many years. They moved back to New York early this year.
