Vincent Prainito

Vincent “Vin” “Pa” Prainito, 72 of Waxhaw, NC passed away December 9, 2023 at Atrium Healthcare in Pineville, NC.

Vin was born in Astoria, New York on October 17, 1951 to the late Fidele “Phil” Prainito and Catherine Insana Prainito. Vin and his wife, Barbara Kostkiewicz Prainito have been together since 1981 and were married for 33 years. He was of the Catholic faith.

Vincent lived most of his life in New York until 2019 when he moved to Waxhaw, NC. He began working in the men’s clothing field and eventually became a buyer. He later moved on to become General Sales Manager for a large home oil heating company. Vin finally became a painting contractor and opened his own successful business for 40 years until he retired in 2017. Vincent will be remembered as a wonderful, kind, caring and sensitive person, son, husband, father, Pa, brother and friend to all who knew him.

As a youth he played bass guitar in The Poor Souls Band. His hobbies included Fishing which he had a Captains license, he taught wood carving for a time, loved shooting and was an excellent shot, leathercrafting, pickle ball, cooking and trying new recipes. His most beloved thing to do was to spend time with his grandchildren, Vincent was a big kid at heart.

Those left to cherish the memories are his wife, Barbara Prainito, his children Alexandra Madden and husband Richard. Peter Costanzo and wife Leonora, His grandchildren Colin Vincent Coppola and Sofia Grace Coppola, his brother Phillip Prainito. The family will be planning a time of remembrance at a later date.
