Vincent John Corvino of Washingtonville, NY passed away on Friday, December 30th 2022. Vinny was a beloved Husband, Father, Brother and Grandfather. He was born on April 11th 1949 in the Bronx, to Vincent Corvino and Raffaela Taddio. Vinny grew up in Valley Cottage and graduated from Nyack High School in 1967. He went on to study civil engineering as he started his career at Orange and Rockland Utilities. In 1970, Vinny was drafted into the Army and served with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. During his service, He achieved the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, among other military decorations. After completing his service in the Army, Vinny continued his career with Orange and Rockland Utilities, retiring in 2004 after 36 years.
Vinny settled in Pearl River early in his career at Orange and Rockland Utilities, and became a father to his daughter and son, Jeanette and Paul. Vinny moved with his family to Blooming Grove for several years while his children finished school. Vinny then settled in Washingtonville where he lived with his wife, Susan, for the past 15 years.
Vinny was a known by his family and friends to be exceedingly generous, but especially with his time and skills. He was a jack of all trades, but particularly enjoyed custom woodworking. Vinny was fearless in his ability to take on and solve any challenge. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and trips to the casino. He loved spending time with his wife, Susan, shopping and visiting local flea markets. Vinny loved to travel to his home away from home, Saint Maarten. Vinny had a passion for cooking, and especially loved sharing meals with friends and family. Christmas Eve dinner was known for being his favorite to share. He was always laughing, smiling and joking. Vinny filled the lives of those around him with love and laughter.
He is survived by his wife Susan Gardineer-Corvino; daughter Jeanette Corvino and son-in law William Madden III; son Paul Vincent Corvino and daughter-in-law Caroline, and his two grandchildren, John Vincent Corvino and Matthew Christopher Corvino; and three siblings, John Corvino, Anthony Corvino, and Lorraine Corvino.
