Thomas P McGuire

Thomas P. McGuire, a sixty-year resident of Pearl River, New York, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. He was ninety years old.

Born on November 25, 1935, in the Bronx, New York, Tommy was the son of the late Thomas A. and Susan (Corcoran) McGuire. He was raised and educated in the Bronx and went on to graduate from Manhattan College, an accomplishment that he was proud of throughout his life.

Tommy was a proud 50-year Gold Card member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 15 in New York City.  He followed in the footsteps of his father by serving as the President and Business Manager of Local 15 for twenty-seven years and he also served as an International Vice President.  He devoted his entire career to bettering the lives of all the working men and women of Local 15 before his retirement in 2003.

A hardworking, trustworthy, and dependable man, Tommy took immense pride in providing for both his family and his union members, and he approached his life and his work with love, dedication, and integrity.  Tommy was also a man of great faith who was extremely proud of his Irish Catholic roots.

While he was proud of his work at Local 15, his family was truly and undoubtedly the most important thing in his life.  Above all else, Tommy will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a cherished grandfather and great grandfather, and loyal friend to all who knew him. 

He is survived by his children, Kerry (Tommy), Matt, and Tara (Andy); his grandchildren, Tom, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Kieran, Bridget, Owen, Erin, and Colleen; and his great-grandchildren, Nolan, Declan, and RJ.  Tommy was predeceased by his beloved wife of 56 years Maureen, and by his son, Thomas Joseph McGuire.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 26, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Aedan’s Church in Pearl River, New York. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Nanuet, New York. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 25th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tommy’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
