Thomas Holmes Obituary

Thomas Matthew Holmes, a lifelong resident of Pearl River, New York, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on July 29, 2026. He was 53 years old.
He was the beloved son of Thomas and Mary Alice Holmes. He grew up in Pearl River and graduated from Albertus Magnus High School before earning his bachelor's degree from Cabrini College in 1994. Tommy went on to work as a real estate appraiser for McGrath & Company for over 20 years.
Tommy met every challenge in his life with remarkable strength and determination and never let it stop him from living fully and finding joy. He had a passion for sports and was a devoted fan of the New York Knicks and the New York Yankees. Tommy enjoyed watching games with family and friends, and he was always ready to talk sports with anyone who'd listen.
Tommy looked forward to gathering with friends and relatives for holidays, where many lasting memories were made. He was also a familiar face on the sidelines and in the stands, cheering on his nieces, nephews, and friends' children at their sporting events, dance recitals, and other special occasions. His quiet support and presence meant more than words could express.
Tommy will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and loyal friendships. His gentle spirit and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Tommy is survived by his loving parents, Thomas and Mary Alice Holmes; his brother Brian and his wife Maureen; his sister Rosemary and her husband Michael Hargaden; his beloved nieces, Madelyn Holmes and Mary Kate Hargaden; and his cherished nephews, Austin and Colin Holmes. He also leaves behind many loving relatives and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
