In Memoriam: Thomas Grant Elliott (1922-2023)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Dad, Thomas Grant Elliott, a distinguished individual who lived a remarkable life of 101 years. Thomas departed from this world on 12/28/23, surrounded by his loved ones at home.
Born and raised in Chicago, he was predeceased by his parents William Parker Elliott and Bertha Elliott, Brother William, and Sister Kathryn, as well as his wife Olga and son Brian. Tom is survived by his daughters Marcia Elliott, Lynne Brundage and her husband Michael Brundage, Lisa Elliott and her Fiancé John Ferro. His grandchildren include Elizabeth Petrillo and her husband Adam Petrillo, Jennifer Watkins, Christopher Brundage and his wife Tiffany, Matthew Brundage and wife Sarah, Taylor DeRisi and husband Travis, and his five great-grandchildren Luke, Grant, Harper, Willow, and Beckham.
Dad was a man of intellect and ambition, having pursued higher education at both Northwestern and Stanford Universities. In 1942, he answered the call of duty and enlisted in the Coast Guard, embarking on a 22-month service in the South Pacific aboard the USS Aquarius, an amphibious assault ship. His unwavering dedication earned him an impressive 11 battle stars.
In 1973, Thomas established TG Elliott Associates, a specialty construction company that would become a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit and a lasting legacy. Dad will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the profound impact he had on the lives of those around him. His values, work ethic, and kindness have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dad was the cornerstone of our family, his presence a gift, and his wisdom a comfort. His legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
