Selma Jones

Selma Jones, a 73 year resident of Pearl River, NY died Friday, January 21, 2022 at Montefiore Nyack Hospital.  She was 92.
Selma was born May 25, 1929 in Clarkstown, NY to Frank and Ann Flood.
Before marrying the love of her life, Clarence Jones in 1948, she volunteered at the USO’s Stage Door Canteen during WWll, worked as a Candy Dipper at Louis Sherry Chocolates, a secretary at Macys Department Store Herald Square, and a Switchboard Operator at Bell Telephone.
Locally, she was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Pearl River serving for a time as president of the Women’s Society and volunteering for many church events over the years.
Selma will be remembered for her love of her husband and children, crochet and embroidery.
She is survived by her brother, Charles Flood of San Francisco, CA; daughter, Judy Kline of Blandon, PA; son, David Jones of Elmhurst, NY and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday at the United Methodist Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at Frederick Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.  Visiting is Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
