Richard J Ennis

Richard J. Ennis Jr. of West Nyack NY, passed away suddenly on April 11,,  2021 after years of persevering through illnesses.  He was 73.  

Rich was born in the Bronx, NY to Richard and Margaret Ennis, where he grew up.  He graduated from Mount Saint Michael H.S. and then went on to play football at Iona College.  

Rich was a longtime resident of Pearl River, NY, where he raised a family and built his business, Rockland Tire Goodyear. He then moved to West Chester Pa. where he started his own marketing firm and worked closely with the QVC Home Shopping network.  After over 20 years, he then returned home to the Rockland area. He will always be remembered for his hard work ethic and generosity.  

Rich had a love for sports and was a loyal Yankees, Giants and Notre Dame football fan. So much so that meals were on the table only at halftime or the 7th inning stretch.  He had a passion for travel and culture which took him to many places ranging from Africa to Ireland.

Rich was extremely proud of his Irish heritage.  He cherished his moments with family and friends.  He is survived by his sister Margaret Ennis, daughter Kathy Anne (Frank) Urzi, son Rich (Julie) Ennis and son Brian (Caitlin) Ennis.  He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Olivia, Nicholas, Theresa, and Christina Urzi, Ashley and Kristen Ennis, Jack and Alexa Ennis.  Some of Rich’s happiest moments was being a proud Pop Pop at their sporting events and activities, cheering them on.

Rich had many fond memories with his childhood friends; Frank M, John, Frank W and Mike.  He also loved his four-legged fury faithful companion, Jeter.

We will miss dad dearly and will forever be in our hearts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Thursday April 15, 2021 at St. Aedan R.C. Church, burial will follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery Bronx, NY. Visiting will be held Wednesday April 14, 2021 at Wyman- Fisher Funeral Home from 4PM to 8PM.
