Richard Duttwyler of Pearl River (NY), died on September 26, 2021 after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 73 years old.
RIchard was born in the Bronx (NY) to LeRoy and Anne. He graduated from Manhattan College in 1970 earning a Bachelor’s degree. He taught English for 10 years starting at Christ the King School in the Bronx and eventually at Stepinac High School in Westchester. He then worked as a Catering Operations Manager for Restaurant Associates and Compass Group at Avery Fisher Hall/MET Opera House, the Museum of Natural History, and Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City prior to retiring in 2014.
Richard was a resident of Pearl River for the past 44 years after moving from the Bronx in 1977. He is survived by his wife Maryann, sons Kevin and Christopher (Andrea), and one granddaughter, all of Pearl River. He is also survived by his sister Janet (Michael) and many nieces, nephews and god-children. He is predeceased by his Father (LeRoy) and Mother (Anne).
He will be remembered for his love for the NY Yankees and NY Giants and watching games with his life-long friends, Tim and Gail. He also enjoyed woodworking, jigsaw puzzles and watching all variations of NCIS and quoting Jethro Gibbs.
Services are private with a memorial to be held at a later date in Spring 2022.
