Raymond D. Neubauer, long term resident of Pearl River, NY, died on December 11, 2019. He was 85 years old. A devoted husband for 52 years to his late wife, Maureen (nee Kehoe), resolute and untiring patriarch to his family, Ray was known for his warm, welcoming, and non-judgemental approach to everyone. Ray and Maureen met as members of the Newman Club in New York City. He was always a modest and silent helping hand to anyone in need and once saved the life of a neighbor before help could arrive. His otherwise quiet disposition was in sharp contrast to his rafter-rattling laugh, sense of humor, and enjoyment of singing in church and at home. He played the organ, was an amateur photographer and an electronics buff. A graduate of the RCA Technical Institute in New York City, he served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Stembel as a Fire Control Technician. He retired from the Ramapo Central School District as an Audio-Visual and Computer Technician. Ray is survived by three children, John Michael (Lauren) of Madison NJ, Raymond (Regina) of Pearl River NY, Janet Newell (Debbie) of Buda TX, and predeceased by daughter Judith. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Peter, Julia, and Gavin. Visiting hours will be on Monday, December 16 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home at 100 Franklin Ave, Pearl River, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Ray on Tuesday, December 17, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Aedan’s Roman Catholic Church at 23 Reld Drive in Pearl River, NY. Mass will be followed by Burial at Christ The King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes, NJ.
