Raymond John Bellocchio (Ray) a long-time resident of Pearl River passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 93.
He was born on October 5, 1929, to John and Edna Bellocchio in Union City, NJ.
He was a radio operator during the Korean War for the 7th Army and a member of the American Legion in Pearl River.
He was employed by Hershey Ice Cream Co. for 40 years and later at Barr Pharmaceuticals before retiring.
He married Sylvia Conte in 1955 and they moved to Pearl River in 1961 to raise their daughters.
Raymond was an avid reader who enjoyed crossword puzzles, bird watching, old movies, traveling and going out to eat. He was a lifelong Yankee fan who also loved the NY Giants and the Rangers. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and hearing about their lives.
He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia; his daughters Joanne (Tad) McCourt, Catherine (Ralph) Annunziata; his grandchildren John (Pam), Raymond, Caitlin and Steven; his brothers John (Nancy), Richard (Marilyn) and many nieces and nephews.
He will be best remembered as an intelligent, funny, kind and generous man who loved his family and friends.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Wednesday at St. Margaret of Antioch Church, Pearl River. A burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY. Visiting is Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, Inc., Pearl River.
