Peter Vaughan

Peter Vaughan age 84, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Miltown Malbay Co. Clare, Ireland, on July 7th, 1942. He was the son of John and Catherine Vaughan. 

A devout Catholic and parishioner of St Aedan’s R.C. Church, he lived his faith daily through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was a wonderful, devoted husband to his wife of 63 years, Cathleen, and a rock to his family, a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. 

Pete immigrated to New York in 1960 and worked for many years in local 94 in New York City. He was an active member in the Clare Man’s Association and the Miltown Malbay Social Club. Known for his kind heart, and generosity, he loved Irish music, hurling, football and golf, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He cherished family traditions and instilled strong values of faith, and hard work 

He is survived by his beloved wife Cathleen; daughter, Sheila; son in law, Joe Buchanan; his grandchildren, Clare, James and Joseph; and a wide circle of family and friends in both New York and Ireland.  

He is predeceased by his parents; Catherine and John Vaughan; sisters, Mary and Eileen; brothers, Donnie and John; nephews, Brian, and Mikey and James, and niece, Mary O. 

Visitation will be held on Sunday May 10th, from 4:00-8:00pm at Wyman Fisher Funeral Home in Pearl River NY. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated May 11, at 10:00am at St Aedan’s R.C Church in Pearl River NY
