Nick Marcattili of Pearl River, NY, died on May 3rd, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old. Nick was born on February 28th, 1936, in Petogna, Italy to Fulvio and Nicolina Marcattili. He was raised in Italy and moved to New Yok at the age of 24. On December 9th, 1961, Nick married his beloved wife Eleanor (Centi) at St. Joan of Arc Church, Bronx, NY. Nick worked as a general contractor and owned his own business, Nick’s Home Improvement, for over 30 years. Nick lived in Bronx, NY from 1961-1973. Nick and his wife Eleanor moved to Pearl River in 1973 along with their three children. Nick will be remembered for his love of his family and friends, his hilarious sense of humor, his passion for cooking and feeding anybody and everybody, enormous generosity, and his helping heart. His gift of construction abilities is known by those close to him, as his children and friends all have a piece of work done by him in their house, whether it was painting, installing a kitchen or bathroom, or building a deck. He was always there to provide his time and skills to those he loved. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Eleanor, whom he was married for 61 years. His three children, Nicholas Marcattili, Gina (Peter) Manos, and Marisa (Peter) Maher, his eight grandchildren, Peter (Amanda), Anthony, Nicola, and Alissa Manos, Annalyn, Peter, Emilia, and Sofia Maher, as well as his new baby great grandson, Peter Anthony Manos. Nick is also survived by his brother, Osvaldo, and his four sisters, Valestina, Marisa, Rita, Antoniana and their families, as well as many nieces, nephews and many more extended family and friends. Nick is predeceased by his parents, Fulvio and Nicolina. Visiting will be Sunday, May 7th, 2023, from 2:00PM to 6:00PM, at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, Pearl River, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, May 8th, 2023, at 10:00 AM at The Church of Saint Margaret of Antioch, Pearl River, NY. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Airmont, NY. Friends may send memorial donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at lls.org.
