Michael Joseph O’Donnell

Michael Joseph O’Donnell 47 of Mt.Dora Florida formerly West Nyack NY passed away peacefully on October 8, 2025 at home after a brief illness. He was born on March 3, 1978 in Rockville Center, NY to Eileen and Michael O’Donnell

Michael grew up in West Nyack, NY attended St. Anthony’s School and Don Bosco Prep graduating in 1996. He went on to graduate from University of Notre Dame in 2000, where he was part of the Navy ROTC program. 

Michael honorably served our country for over 20 years before retiring as a Commander. He proudly served on the USS O’Kane, Hue City, Hopper and Shiloh and posts in Germany, Italy, Japan, Hawaii, California and Floriida. He spoke several languages and played an important role in ballistic missile defense, dedicating his life to protecting others through service.

Michael  is survived by his children Michael John and Brigitte, his parents Michael and Eileen O’Donnell, his sister Erin (Joe) Keane, his nephews James, Rory, Liam and Dermot Keane, and his beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. Michael was

was predeceased by his grandparents Thomas & Bridget O’Donnell and Daniel & Mary McFadden, his godmother Rosemary (Jimmy) Cahill, and his aunts Evelyn (Tom) Kelly, Bridget O’Donnell and Sadie McFadden.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 10am in St. Anthony’s Paish Church in Nanuet, NY
