Michael "Mikey" Kenneth Murray age 41, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Gone too soon, he was the beloved son of Michael Murray and Denise Weber, dear brother of Ashley (Atakan) Unyuruten, Megan (Jason) Rogers, and Katie Murray, dear uncle of Evelyn Rose Unyuruten, Leah and Chase Rogers. Step-son of Barbara Murray and Robert Weber, and friend to so many.
Michael was born on November 5, 1982 in Ridgewood, and grew up in both Rivervale and Woodcliff Lake, NJ. He graduated from Pascack Hills High School in 2001. Michael was a devoted and loving son, brother, and uncle.
Lovingly known as “Mikey,” he had deep connections with those around him. He was a man of effortless charm, compassion, and endless support to those in need. To be Mikey's friend was to be his family. He had intuitive empathy and would be the first to help anyone in distress, no matter the circumstance. He would often surprise loved ones with thoughtful gifts. He was there for the laughs and the tears, and everything in between. Michael dedicated many years of his life working with the special needs community. He truly had a gift when it came to connecting with the individuals he worked with and always made sure to make them feel loved and cared for. He would often buy them Christmas and birthday gifts with his own money especially if he knew they didn't have many friends or family around. He was incredibly close to his niece Evelyn, they had a special bond that will be forever embedded in her heart. He was very close with his mother Denise always making sure she was well taken care of and that things ran smoothly around the home.
The depth of grief shared by so many at the loss of one man, speaks to his warmth of spirit and charismatic character. His life though brief, had an incredible impact on so many of us and is a testament to his family and friends. Mikey will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
