Michael J Kelly

Michael John Kelly passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 28,1934 in County Galway, Ireland and was one of 5 children.

In 1958 he left Ireland to begin a new journey in the Bronx where he met the love of his life Anne.   Together they raised 5 loving children Marie (Kenny) Kretzschmar, Michael (Shelley) Kelly, Cathy (Jamie) Mills, Thomas (Marcy) Kelly & predeceased by Noleen.  His family was the center of his world, and he treasured every moment they shared together.

His pride and joy were his 9 grandchildren; Brian, Kevin, Kaitlyn, Vaughn, Laine, Kelly, Aidan, Olivia and Ryan.  He loved them all with all of his heart.

Mike worked as a bus driver for MABSTOA for 25 years and then worked at Lederle before retiring.   After he retired he enjoyed the Irish Cultural Center where he would play cards with passion and would intently watch the Hurling/Gaelic Football matches (Up Galway!)  He enjoyed traveling with Anne to many places; including his hometown of Gort, County Galway.

Mike was a man of strong faith and attended daily mass at St Aedans.

Mike was a kind, generous, thoughtful gentleman who was beloved by his family & many friends that he made on his life’s journey.
