Maureen (Kennedy) Mahoney

Maureen Mahoney of the Village of Airmont was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  Maureen was born on September 3, 1947, the daughter of John (Jack) and Mary (Griffin) Kennedy.  After graduation from Saint Cecilia High School, Maureen attended secretarial school in New York City and worked in Manhattan for many years. She went on to work for Sony and was a successful Real Estate Agent.

Members of her family include her devoted husband Tom, daughter Katherine (Michael) Kopf, and sons Thomas (Marisa) Mahoney and John Mahoney.  She cherished spending time with her grandchildren Gavin, Mary, Jaclyn, Tommy, James and Nolan.

Maureen was a fun loving person who loved to share good stories. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends playing cards and games, and when playing cards she always said, “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” She also loved spending time creating delicious meals and often hosting large parties for all to enjoy.

She is also survived by her sister Patricia (John) Novello, sister-n-laws Margaret Kennedy and Maureen Ralston, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased  by her parents and brother Edward Kennedy. Maureen will be missed by all who knew her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am Monday February 22, 2021 at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey.  Visiting will be held Sunday February 21, 2021 at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home from 3-5 and 7-9 PM.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
