Mary Theresa Lyons

It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Mary Theresa Lyons (92) of Nanuet, NY. Mary passed at Good Samaritan Hospital on Monday, January 24th, 2022 surrounded by her family. Mary was born on August 7, 1929 to James and Bridget Beacon in Manhattan, NY. She graduated from St. Luke’s School in 1945. She married the love of her life, James J. Lyons on October 5, 1957 at Saint Luke’s Parish in the Bronx. Mary and James moved to Nanuet, NY in 1963 and raised their four children. Beloved mother of Brian Lyons, Gerianne Lyons, Mary B. and husband, Eric Theodoropoulos, Seamus and wife Judy Lyons. Cherished grandmother, “Nanny” of Michael (predeceased 2016), Michele, Matthew, Renee, Savannah, Jack, Aedan, Logan, Paul, Nikolas and Athena. Mary will always be remembered for her infectious laughter, her entertaining stories and heart of gold. Her memory and love for her family will live on forever. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Saint Aedan Church in Pearl River, NY. Burial will follow at Saint Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Wyman Fisher Funeral Home from 4:00PM- 8:00PM at 100 Franklin Ave, Pearl River, NY 10965.
