Mary Theresa Brennan
Beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother.
Mary Theresa Brennan (nee Conlisk), a cherished wife, devoted mother, and adored grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 31, 2024. Born in Ireland, Mary spent her early years embracing the beauty of her homeland before embarking on a new chapter at 18, when she moved to the Bronx, NY.
Her first job in the United States was at Equitable Life Insurance, where she found joy and independence as a young woman. It was in the Bronx that she met the love of her life, James Patrick “Jimco” Brennan. The two married and began a beautiful life together, welcoming their first son, Michael, and daughter Linda. Shortly after, they moved to Tappan, NY, where they built a warm and loving home, with the additional birth of James.
Mary dedicated many years to being a stay-at-home mom, nurturing her children with unconditional love and care. Later, she pursued a higher education degree, and began a career as a dental technician, demonstrating her dedication and meticulous nature.
She cherished her Irish roots, finding comfort in the melodies of Irish music and sharing fond memories of her heritage with her family. One of her favorite pastimes was walking the Piermont pier with her beloved Jimco, a simple joy that reflected their deep bond.
Mary’s legacy lives on in her children, Michael of Tappan, NY, Linda and her husband John O’Hagan of Pearl River, NY, and James and his wife Laurel (nee Sheridan) of Virginia Beach; her grandchildren, Max Brennan, Claudia Brennan, Johnny O’Hagan, Molly O’Hagan, Liam O’Hagan, Dylan Brennan, and Emmett Brennan; and her great-grandchildren, Everett Brennan and Isla O’Hagan.
Her love, humor, and warmth will forever be remembered by those who knew her. Especially those who were told “at least you are good for something ".
Mary’s life was a testament to the power of love, family, and resilience. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
Rest in peace, Mary. You will remain in our hearts forever.
