Mary Piscani Obituary

Mary Piscani, of Pearl River, New York, was born on January 26, 1951, and passed away peacefully on Thanksgiving Day, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx before making her home in Rockland County, Mary lived a life centered around family, tradition, and love. She was the heart of every gathering; her famous Christmas struffoli, sesame cookies, and Easter bread were just small pieces of the warmth she poured into her home. Anyone who walked through her door felt welcomed, fed, and cared for.

For 60 years, Mary shared her life with her beloved husband Emil (Junior) Piscani, and together they created a home built on love, devotion, and unbreakable family bonds. Her greatest joy in this world was being “Nana.” Luke and Genevieve were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment with them. They brought her a joy that words can barely capture.

Mary devoted 38 years to Nyack Montefiore Hospital, where her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit touched countless lives. The friendships she made there became lifelong and truly felt like extended family.

She was predeceased by her parents Palma and Edward Vecchio and her brother Jimmy Vecchio.

She is survived by her loving husband Emil (Junior) Piscani; her children Christine (Tom) Maiorano and Joe (Michele) Piscani; and her cherished grandchildren Luke and Genevieve, who meant everything to her.

Mary is also survived by her sisters Francine Cobuzzi and Patricia DiDomenico, and her brother Edward Vecchio; as well as her many loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, each of whom held a meaningful place in her life.

She also leaves behind an enormous, loving extended family of nieces and nephews, all of whom brought her tremendous joy.

Mary will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, her generosity, and the endless love she gave to her family.

Her legacy lives on in every tradition she created, every life she touched, and every heart she warmed.

May she rest in eternal peace.
