Martin F Worker

With profound sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Martin F. Worker, who died at his home on Friday, May 15, following a sudden heart attack.

Marty was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose warmth, laughter, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew him. His greatest joy in life was being a father to his two daughters, Lindsey and Kelly.

Born on October 22, 1956, in Brooklyn, New York, to Mildred and Frederick Worker. Marty graduated from Pearl River High School in 1975 and earned his Engineering degree from Westchester Community College. Throughout his career, he worked as a Civil Engineer and Construction Estimator. He was admired for his strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication.

On July 4, 1982, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Nilsen. Together they raised their daughters and built a beautiful life together in Fort Montgomery, New York. Inspired by his deep love for horses, nature, and people, he, along with his father in law Alf, built a mountain-top ranch that became a place of joy, peace, and an escape for so many.

Marty was a cowboy at heart who was guided by a deep faith in God. He lived his life with gratitude and love for others. Always wearing a smile and endlessly kind, he made people feel at home. The memories created on the mountain top with family, and friends will remain a part of his enduring legacy for generations to come.

Marty was predeceased by his parents, Mildred and Frederick Worker. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, his daughters, Lindsey and her husband Bryan, Kelly and her husband Nick, and his cherished grandchildren, Brayden, Mackenzie, and Millie. He is also survived by his sister, Maureen Claussen and her husband Claus, his brother,  Paul Worker and his wife Joyce, sister in laws, Carolyn, Irene (Pat) and Lorri (Al), brother in law, Roy (Teresa) and many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home in Pearl River, New York, from 3:00–5:00 p.m. and 7:00–9:00p.m. 

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church in Stony Point, New York. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Atonement Lutheran Church.
