Martin Noel Mulhaire

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts we note the passing of Martin Mulhaire. Martin was born in Eyrecourt, Co. Galway Ireland in 1936, the
son of Thomas and Theresa and brother of Brendan, Moira and Sheila.

Martin emigrated to America with his wife Carmel Mahony in 1958 where they settled and raised a family in New York. Martin was both a talented carpenter and musician He was an integral part of the New York Irish-American music scene for over 50 years both in the dance hall era of the 1960’ and 70’s and the traditional Irish music scene over the last 30 years. Martin was a renowned composer of traditional Irish music and his tunes are now performed and recorded throughout the world.

Martin is survived by his wife of 61 years Carmel, his five children Brendan, Theresa (Kevin) Quinn, Joan (Daniel) Dever, Laura (Rob) McNierney and
Sheila (Bill) Colbert and thirteen beloved grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Wednesday at St. Aedan R. C. Church, Pearl River.  Visiting is Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
