Martin Galvin Obituary

Martin Galvin, 83 of Pearl River, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 14, 2024.  Martin was born in Quilty, County Clare, Ireland.  He emigrated to the United States in 1959 where he proudly served in the United States Army . Throughout his life, Martin would often say that America is the greatest country in the world. Martin married the love of his life, Marion Brodie in 1965 and together, they raised four children that they loved deeply.

 

Martin was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his family and friends. For those that knew and loved Martin, they will forever remember him on the dance floor with Marion. He was an accomplished dancer and loved to celebrate his Irish heritage by dancing a set

Martin was a loving husband, father, brother and Poppy. He is survived by his children Sean Galvin (Betty), Dawn Galvin (Marianne), Stacey Ryan (Mike), and Neil Galvin (Danielle) and his cherished grandchildren Sarah, Michael, Emma, Michael, Jameson, Landon & Gianna.  Additionally he is survived by his siblings Kitty, Sean, Tommy & Brian.

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Marion, his parents Paddy and Anne Galvin, sisters, Annette,Mary Frances and Loretta and brothers Patrick and Michael.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please consider a donation to the Joe Raso Hospice Residence.
