Margaret Flood Obituary

Margaret Flood née Doyle passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026. She was surrounded by love.

Margaret was born in New York on April 11, 1947, the daughter of James and Martha.

Margaret lived a life defined by resilience, devotion, humor, and an unwavering, courageous commitment to the people she loved. Through life's challenges and triumphs, she built a family rooted in loyalty, kindness, and care. She possessed a rare combination of strength and warmth—honest and fiercely loving. Her compassion, motherly sensibility, sensitivity, and capacity for emotional attunement made her a source of deep, nurturing comfort to those around her. The constancy of her love shaped everyone she held close.

Margaret was the beloved wife of Timothy. Together they built a life filled with family, friendship, and countless memories. She was a devoted mother to her children, John (Emma) and Jeanette, and a proud grandmother to Tristan, Daniel, Kelly, and Connor. Her four grandsons brought her immense joy, and she took great pride in watching them grow.

Margaret was predeceased by her brothers Tom, Jimmy, and Paddy. She is survived by her sister Anne, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives were deeply enriched by her presence.

In her final years, Margaret faced significant health challenges with courage and grace. She continued to draw strength from the people she had nurtured throughout her life. The love that surrounded her reflected the life she had built—a life marked by sacrifice, fierce devotion, and a remarkable ability to bring people together.

Margaret's greatest legacy is the family she created and the love she inspired. Through her life, her hands pulled threads colored by love, joy, tenderness, laughter, sacrifice, and steadfast care into a family bound together by love. Her example taught those around her that life's most important questions are answered not through words, but through how we love our people.

If the measure of a life is the love it leaves behind, Margaret's was a very full one.

Her impact will be felt through the love carried forward by generations to follow.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there. I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die."
