Linda Cernak Lundberg Obituary

Linda Dale Cernak Lundberg of Chestnut Ridge NY passed away on February 28, 2024, in Delray Beach, Florida after a long, hard battle with health issues.  Born in 1953 in Nyack, NY and raised in Pearl River, NY, she always cared most about friends and family.  She met her husband, Kenneth Lundberg, at a St. Patrick’s Day parade in Pearl River and they were married in November 1998, spending 30 fun, exciting years together before her passing.  She is predeceased by her mother, Margeret Cernak (Gallo), father Fred Cernak, and sister Margie Cernak.

Linda began in the publishing business shortly after college and was a well-known independent author and writer in the industry.  She has had multiple educational books published that are still in use in various states throughout the country and for sale online.

In addition to her work, she had a great love of food, wine, and travel, and also liked to paint, make stained glass pieces and dance.  She and Ken travelled extensively throughout Europe and Africa and most loved a safari in South Africa and an extensive tour of Morocco.  Linda’s favorite happy place was Paris, which she visited many times. including a recent trip to celebrate their 25th anniversary.

Linda loved to cook at which she excelled.  She enjoyed a good glass of wine, throwing parties and holiday celebrations. If you knew Linda and her organizational skills, you knew the time and effort she put into everything she did.  She always had time for people.  She was easy to talk to, funny and caring, and will be remembered for her kindness to all who met her. She loved watching the Yankees, playing a round of golf, jumping in the pool, hanging out with her niece Alyssa and of course listening to the  Beatles, especially Paul McCartney.

While Linda loved flowers she would also be pleased with any donation in her honor to the Arc of Bergen and Passaic Counties, 223 Moore St. Hackensack NJ.

We will celebrate her life at the Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home on Thursday, March 14 from 4-7pm  and at a Mass at St. Margaret’s Church, both in Pearl River, on Friday morning at 10:30.
