Lawrence Mesopotanese

Lawrence "Larry" Mesopotanese, a resident of Stony Point, New York, passed away on July 5, 2026, at the age of 74. 

Larry was born on June 15, 1952, in Washington Heights, New York, to Christy and Helen (Healy) Mesopotanese. He graduated from Power Memorial High School in 1970 and briefly attended Iona College and Westchester Community College.

Shortly after marrying the love of his life, Joann, the couple began their life together in West Milford, New Jersey, where they raised their two sons and created countless cherished memories. Over the years, Larry made his home in several communities. He spent the last 12 years in Stony Point, New York. Prior to that, he lived in Monroe and North Brunswick, New Jersey.

Larry dedicated 37 years of service to United Parcel Service (UPS). He began his career at just 18 years old, through hard work, determination, and integrity, rose through the ranks to become Manager of Security Operations before retiring in 2007. 

Above all else, Larry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy came from his family. He took tremendous pride in the lives and accomplishments of his children and found his greatest happiness in being "Grandpa" or "Pop Pop" to his four cherished grandchildren. Larry will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, selflessness, and unwavering willingness to help family and friends whenever they were in need. He had a lifelong love of music, enjoyed following sports, and never passed up a chance to enjoy a bowl of ice cream. 

Larry is survived by his loving wife of nearly 53 years, Joann; his son Christopher and daughter-in-law Erica of North Caldwell, New Jersey; his son Daniel and daughter-in-law Nina of Pearl River, New York; and his four beloved grandchildren, Ella, Ava, Liliana, and Anthony. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Cunningham, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Larry's honor may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the New York City Hemophilia Chapter.
