Kenneth H. Merring of New City, NY, a retiree, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 at home in Denver, PA. He was 79.
Mr. Merring worked as a Financial Analyst for IBM in New York, NY and in White Plains, NY. He was with the company for 37 years before retiring in 2005.
Kenneth was born on September 11, 1941 in Astoria, NY to Harry and Henrietta Merring. He was educated in Astoria, NY and Graduated from William-Cullen-Bryant HS in 1960. He earned an Associates degree in Business from NYU, New York, NY in 1971. Mr. Merring served in the Army from 1962 to 1969.
On April 24, 1998 he married his second wife Lynn Ann Sahner at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Pearl River, NY.
Mr. Merring lived in New City, NY for 24 years. Before that, he lived in Staten Island, NY, from 1974 to 1995 and in Astoria, NY, from 1941 to 1974.
Locally, he was a devoted Lutheran and Church council leader. He was also a Worshipful Brother of the Free and Accepted Masons and held memberships in local Cadillac and other car clubs.
Kenneth will be remembered for being charitable and dependable, for living his life with integrity and purpose. For always putting the needs of others before his own. He was a true gentleman.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Ann Merring. His three children: Eric Merring & partner Regina Blecher, Veronica Merring-Cuccia, Karl Merring & daughter-in-law Marilu Merring. His five grandchildren: Kenneth Petty-Merring, Vince Cuccia, Gianna Cuccia, Luke Merring and Harrison Merring. His brother Doug Merring and sister-in-law Annette Merring and he is also survived by a large family of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Family who died earlier include: His first wife and mother of his three children Eileen Merring (1987), his brother Rodger Merring (1998) and his parents Harry and Henrietta Merring.

Visiting will be held at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Thursday December 10, 2020 from 3PM to 5 PM and 7PM to 9PM. A service will be held Friday 8:30 AM at Good Shepherd Church. The Funeral Service will be lived streamed at https://youtu.be/2v_6BfkwHCM .
