Kenneth M. Lang passed away on December 3, 2023 at the age of 71. He was a resident of Pearl River, NY for 42 years. Ken grew up on Long Island before pursuing his education at SUNY Oneonta, where he met his wife, Susan. Together, they shared 50 years of marriage and raised three sons.
Ken actively contributed to the community, dedicating his time to various pursuits, notably with the Orangetown Mighty Midgets Soccer League and Boy Scout Troop 37. After his retirement from the New York Property Insurance Underwriting Association, he was active with the Rockland District Eagle Scout Program. He played an integral role in the Parents Club of West Point and was chairman of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Leadership Award Recognition Day program for 20 years.
Ken found immense joy in camping, particularly in the serene landscapes of the Adirondacks, where he created enduring memories with his family. Family vacations in Cape Cod were also a favorite. He considered completing the New York Times crossword puzzle a great start to his day. Ken brightened many lives with his dry wit and humor.
Ken is survived by his wife Susan, and sons Stephen (Jessica) and Thomas (Kelly). He also leaves behind his sister Cecelia, brothers Andrew (Carolyn) and Matthew (Mary Ellen), his sister-in-law Kathryn Casero (Emilio), and brothers-in-law Michael and Howard Alberts, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ken is predeceased by his parents, Beatrice and Kenneth Lang, and his son Michael.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 4pm-7pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Avenue, Pearl River, NY 10965.
