Kathleen B. Donegan

Kathleen (née McGowan) Donegan (93) a long-time resident of Pearl River, NY passed away Monday July 18, 2022 surrounded by her family.  Kathleen was born June 27, 1929 to the late Patrick and Nora (nee Clarke/Carney) McGowan of County Leitrim. 

Beloved wife of the late John P. Donegan, loving mother to the late John Jr., Maura (Rodney) Ray, and Eileen (Chris) Cording. Sweetest Nanny to Erika, Katherine, Jack, Erin & Bridget, loving great-grandmother to Londyn and Spenser and dear sister to Eileen and the late Dora, Felix, Jim, Larry, Jack, Annabelle, and Gerry McGowan

In 1961 Kathleen married the love of her life, John and together for 57 years raised their three children.  Kathleen loved taking walks, gardening, and spending time with family. Rockaway Beach, the Kilcar and Cape Cod were the places she loved to spend time with family.  She made the most amazing Irish soda bread and made sure to bake numerous loaves on St. Patrick’s Day for family, friends and neighbors. Kathleen will be remembered for her kindness, laugh and spunky sense of humor. Most of all she will be remembered for all the love and support she gave to us. She was a strong, independent, funny lady and all who knew her are blessed with her memory.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, July 22, 11:00 AM at St. Margaret of Antioch R.C. Church, 115 West Central Ave., Pearl River.  Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.  Visiting will be held Thursday, July 21 from 4 to 7 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
