June Stamoulis, of Sparkill, New York, formerly of Brooklyn Heights, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at the age of 88.
June was born on July 1, 1936, in Park Ridge, New Jersey, to John Aitchison and Maude Paltridge. She was raised in Pearl River, New York, where she graduated from Pearl River High School in 1954. A dedicated student, she went on to attend SUNY Albany and later graduated from Columbia University with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish.
On October 28, 1979, June married Lambros Stamoulis, with whom she shared a loving and devoted marriage until his passing in 2021. June will be remembered as a devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend. Family was deeply important to her, and she cherished the time spent with her nieces and nephews—especially during their younger years. Her warmth and kindness made her a beloved presence in the lives of those around her.
A lifelong learner and traveler, June was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, and found joy in exploring new places and trying new things. She especially looked forward to her biannual trips to Greece to visit her late husband Lambros’ family—a tradition she held dear.
June is survived by her loving sister Janet Witherell; her nephew Steven Schaarschuch and his wife Mary Flannery; her niece Dawn Lamond and her husband Brian; her grandniece Molly Schaarschuch and her great-nephews Luke Schaarschuch and Brayden Lamond. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lambros Stamoulis, and her brother, John Aitchison.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 16, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Avenue, Pearl River, NY. A prayer service will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 17, at 10:30 AM, followed by burial at Germonds Cemetery.
