June M Kracke(Koster) age 96, passed away peacefully on May 14th in Park Ridge, NJ. She was born on June 26th 1926 in Jamaica, Queens, NY, the youngest of four children of Margaret and Edward Koster. She raised a family in Nanuet, NY where she lived for over 60 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, the motto she lived by was Faith, Family and Friends.
June is predeceased by her husband of 50 years Frederick T Kracke a Professional Civil Engineer for the NYSDOT, her sister Florence and brother Richard. She is survived by her three sons, Frederick, his wife Delythe and their children, Brendan, his wife Beth and Melissa; Christopher, his wife Gabriella and their sons, Christopher, Daniel, his wife Jill and Great Grandchildren Dean Michael and Meredith Hope and Matthew; Edward and her older brother Edward Koster along with many loving nieces and nephews.
June grew up in a carefree time and always had her heart and interest in others. She always lite up a room and made everyone smile. Her interest in the welfare of others led her to volunteering; The WWII effort, transporting military personnel to and from NYC, and for 20+ years at Helen Hayes Hospital.
June was very involved in the Clarkstown Reformed Church of West Nyack where she served as Deacon and Elder for many years. She had a book open at all times and was a proud member of the Nyack Book club, the oldest continuing book club in America. She was always connecting with friends, resulting in the formation of her closest group of friends self-named "The Golden Girls"
Having grown up in the shadow of WWII, she became a staunch supporter of our country and though her light has gone out, she has brightened the lives of many over the years.
Visitation will be held from 4-8PM on Thursday May 18th at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home in Pearl River, NY and a memorial service will be held on Friday May 26th at 11am at Clarkstown Reformed Church in Nyack, NY.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans and T2T.
