Julia Rose Flotard (Julie) a 60 year resident of Pearl River, NY before moving to Cornwall NY and then to her son Greg’s home in Newburgh, NY passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Newburgh, NY. She was 94.
Early on, Mrs. Flotard worked for Shop-Rite in Pearl River in the butcher department, she was a credit analyst for Lehn and Fink and Butler Aviation. When she retired she worked as a sales associate for Bee Alive in Congers, NY and was a Nanny.
Julie was born July 19, 1929 in Piermont, NY to Luigi and Carmela (Covino) Lombardi. Julie was educated in Piermont and graduated from Tappan Zee High School in 1947.
On June 18, 1949 she married Philip Flotard at St. John R. C. Church in Piermont.
She was a parishioner of St. Margaret R. C. Church in Pearl River and member of the Piermont Seniors. Julie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family. She was very sensitive towards the needs of other people and loved to help. She would befriend those in need and always welcomed them into her home whether it be for coffee, a meal or a holiday visit with her family. Julie was a master of Italian cuisine and took great pride in her cooking and baking. One of her staples was her biscotti which was loved by all. She also loved dancing with her husband, Philip.
She is survived by her sons, James”Bud”, Raymond and Gregory and his wife Kathy. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew and Michelle and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Philip (February, 2020).
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday at St. Margaret R. C. Church, Pearl River. Burial will follow at Frederick Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY. Visiting is Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. Pearl River, NY.
