Josephine "Jo" V. Cucchiara

Josephine “Jo” Cucchiara of Pearl River, NY passed away on June 18,2021, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Jo was born April 5,1927 in Washington Heights, NY to James and Viola Mattiace the oldest of 6 children.

On September 13, 1952, she married the love of her life Dominick “Tom “Cucchiara at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church in Lodi, NJ she moved to Pearl River, where she has resided for the past 69 years.

Jo was a member of the Ladies Italian American Guild of Rockland County, a girl scout leader and a member of St. Aedan’s Ladies Guild.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Donna Stevens (Richard); Tami Scott (Dale); and loving grandson Christopher Madden (Jessica); brother Frank Mattiace (Maria); sister Marlene Ugo (Edward) many nephews and nieces .

Predeceased by her loving husband Tom in 2009. Brothers James and Michael Mattiace and sister Lucille Diamond.

Viewing will be Monday June 21,2021 from 4-7pm at Wyman- Fisher Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be June 22,2021 at 10am at St. Aedan’s RC Church Pearl River NY. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery Nanuet, NY.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to United Hospice of Rockland or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her name.
