Joseph F. Milazzo passed away peacefully on April 24th, 2021 at home. He was 77 years old. Joe grew up in Queens and has lived in Blauvelt since 1987. He was born on June 2nd, 1943 in Manhattan, to Ralph and Helen Milazzo. He was a tireless worker; he worked in the grocery store business for as long as anyone can remember.
He was a very loving father and “poppy” to his grandchildren and was selfless when it came to his family and friends. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love for his dogs, his dedication to his job, his awesome barbecue skills, hosting summer family gatherings, and for taking great pride in his home. In his earlier years, he enjoyed dining out with his beautiful wife, and watching boxing matches and Yankees games. He is predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Sandra Swanson. He is survived by his sister Bernice Bzdewka; his children: Troy Hamburg, Amber Juelsgaard, Dean Milazzo, Giana Milazzo, Kirsten Perfilio, and Britt Young,13 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. “Pop” will be sorely missed by all.
A memorial in celebration of his life will be held at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Ave, Pearl River, NY, from 12-3 pm on Saturday, May 15th.
