Joanne Theresa (Scicutella) Lafalgio

Joanne Theresa Lafalgio of West Haverstraw NY passed away on the morning of January 21, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern NY. She was 68. Mrs. Lafalgio was a friendly face, who worked at the deli counter in Shoprite of Pearl River, NY for the last 20 plus years.

 Mrs. Lafalgio was born on August 10, 1952 in Brooklyn NY to Nicolas and Carmela Bonaguro Scicutella. She achieved an associate’s degree in social sciences from Rockland Community College in 1972, after graduating Spring Valley High School. She moved from Brooklyn to Monsey NY when she was 17 and since then, has lived in Pearl River, Stony Point, West Haverstraw, and Blauvelt, where she raised two children.

 On July 16, 1999, she married Vincent Lafalgio in Stony Point NY. Vincent absolutely adored her until his very recent passing on January 4, 2021.  Joanne is also preceded in her death by her sister Mary Scicutella. She is survived by her sister Grace(Scott) MacRobbie, children Jenny Richmond and Timothy Ucker, granddaughters, Gianna, Renee, and Arianna. She also adored her stepson Anthony Lafalgio and his children, Angelo, Gia, and Kayla.

Joanne will be remembered for her sweet warm demeanor. She was a true kind soul with friends everywhere she went because of her ability to connect with people. She enjoyed time with family and her cooking added to her ability to bring people together.  She recently said that she didn’t want to retire because she would miss the people. Now it’s her who will be missed.

Visiting will be 4-7PM Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Wyman-Fisher Funeral home in Pearl River NY. A Mass of Christian will be held 10AM Thursday, January 28 at Saint Margaret R.C. Church in Pearl River NY.
