James (Jim) Nordmann of New City, NY, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with cancer. He was 67. Jim grew up in Pearl River, NY and worked as an automotive engineer for Volvo and GM Cadillac. He had many interests including photography, Aikido (earning a black belt), horseback riding, scuba diving and travel. He was known as being generous, kind and having a wonderful sense of humor. Jim was a beloved brother, uncle and friend and is survived by his brothers, John and Robert, sister-in-law Rochelle sister Marylou, brother-in-law Andrew, niece Olivia, nephew Brian, and many close friends. A wake will be held at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. on Sunday and Monday Sept 27 and 28 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 Tuesday, September 29 at St. Margaret Church, 115 West Central Ave, Pearl River. Burial will follow at Cemetery of the Ascension, Airmont. NY. The family suggests memorial donations can be made to HUMC Brain and Spine Institute with “In memory of James Nordmann” in the memo line.
