James Loftus

James Loftus, longtime resident of West Haverstraw, New York, beloved uncle, and friend passed away on March 25, 2023, following a short illness. He was born on December 27, 1943, in New York, New York, grew up in the Bronx, spent time in Florida and finally settled in West Haverstraw in 1978. He was part of a close-knit group of friends and family that lived in Samsondale, enjoying block parties and Monday Night Football with the guys. He was a devout, and mostly disappointed, Vikings fan and he loved his cars. Jimmy worked as an Auditor and Vice President for Bank of New York for over 35 years. He was a gentle caring soul who loved his family. He is preceded in death by his mother and father. He will always be remembered and cherished as “Uncle Jimmy” to those who knew him.  Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 15, 2023, from 2-5 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
