George A Rescigno

George Anthony Rescigno of Goshen, NY formerly of Nanuet, NY, passed away on May 2, 2023, at Glen Arden Health Care Center in Goshen, NY.  He was 83.

George worked as a crane operator for IUOE Local 14 in Staten Island, NY and volunteered at Helen Hayes outpatient PT in West Haverstraw, NY.  He was in the union for over 30 years before retiring.

George was born June 13, 1939 in Bronx, NY to George and Theresa D’Urso Rescigno and was educated in the Bronx. 

He served in the US Army from 1960 to 1964 attaining the rank of Specialist 4th Class.  He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.

On November 12, 1960 he married Sandra Jane Mehlman in Mamaroneck, NY.

George lived in Goshen, NY for the past six years. Before that, he lived in Nanuet, NY from 1964 to 2016 and Mamaroneck, NY from 1960 to 1964.   

He is survived by his son, George Rescigno and wife, Mary, of Pearl River, daughter, Karen Clark and her husband, Bill of Nanuet, daughter, Susan Maggiolo and her husband, Michael of Montgomery, daughter, Sandra McDonald and her husband Eddie of Nanuet and his pride and joy son, Steven Rescigno.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Andrew, Bryanna, Lyndsey, Billy, Amanda, Michael, Emma, Jenna, Michaila, Lenny, Anthony, Marissa and Nicole; great grandchildren, Max, Milo, Kai and Sloan.    George is predeceased by the love of his life, Sandra Jane Rescigno (2012).
