Frederick “Fred” W. Baldus passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, January 23, 2022. Fred was born in New York City on November 1, 1942 to Alfons and Josephine Baldus.
Fred was a proud member of the New York City Police Department, protecting and serving upper Manhattan’s 34th Precinct for over 26 years. He was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors and environmental conservation. He was a member of the Monroe-Chester Sportsman Club and the local Elks Lodge. Fred also enjoyed serving as a baseball umpire for "Rockland Counties" various baseball leagues.
Fred was a devoted husband to Mary Anne, loving father to sons Eric and Kyle, father in-law to Jennifer and Lorena, and Opa to Abigail and Declan. Viewing hours are, January 28, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home, 100 Franklin Avenue, Pearl River, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Monday, January 31, 2022 at the Church of the Presentation, 271 West Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ. Burial will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
