Francis Thomas “Frank” Duffy of Pearl River, NY, passed away on November 4, 2025. He was 102.
Frank was born on August 16, 1923, in Manhattan to Frank and Katie Duffy. He graduated from St. Michael’s Grammar School and Commerce High School. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served with honor and distinction.
Frank was a decorated World War II veteran. He was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart for conspicuous gallantry while serving with the 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines on Iwo Jima, where he served as a runner for the Commanding Officer. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal. After returning home from the war, Frank began a career with the United States Postal Service, eventually retiring in 1978 as a Foreman for Transportation.
In 1947, he married Margaret Maloney, who predeceased him a few years later. On December 26, 1956, he married his wife, Bridget, who he would be with for 70 years.
Frank was active in his community and proud of it. He was a member of the Pearl River VFW Post 7370, the John H. Secor American Legion Post, Ancient Order Of Hibernian, Irish Cultural Center, St. Margaret R.C. Church, and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus.
Frank will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Bridget; his children, Noel Reynolds (Sarah), Pat Reynolds (Barbara), F. Timothy Duffy (Eileen), Patrick Duffy, and Mary Faller (Rich); as well as his grandchildren, (Stephen, Michael, Jessica, Timothy, Lennon, Katherine, Anna, Diane, Dylan, and Sara); and great-grandchildren (Patrick, Thomas, Colin, Erin, Kelly, Gavin, Ryan, Jennifer, Joanna, Gavin, and Olivia) and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Joanne in 1981.
Visiting will be held at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 10, 2025, at St. Margaret R.C. Church.
Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery
