Ellen ‘Eileen’ Sullivan, longtime resident of Blauvelt, NY, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 1, 2026.
Eileen was born on May 7, 1935 in County Galway, Ireland to Michael and Bridget McCann and was one of ten children. In 1956, she came to Staten Island, where she met her husband, Michael Sullivan, and they made their home together in West Brighton. They moved to Blauvelt, NY in 1986 and Eileen became a devoted member of St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church.
Eileen was a dedicated Senior Police Administrative Aide for the New York City Police Department.
Eileen is remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, foster mother, aunt, and friend. Her neighbors will remember her for her frequent walks that she took with her beloved dogs.
Eileen is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Alfieri and son-in-law, James Alfieri; her daughter, Katherine Sullivan; her son, Thomas Sullivan; her daughter-in-law Carol Sullivan; her grandchildren, Marie (Christopher) Porreca, Nicole (Juan) Arbelaez, Jeannine Alfieri, John (Ali) Sullivan, Stephen Sullivan, and Chelsea Sullivan; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Brooke, Thomas, Ben, Sam, Jason, Andrew, Madison, Tyler, and Austin; her sister Elizabeth Power and brother Patrick McCann; her nephew, Thomas (Cathy) Coohill; and numerous nieces and nephews here and abroad.
She is predeceased by her husband Michael J. Sullivan and son Michael L. Sullivan.
