Eileen B. Moloney (nee Molloy) resident of Pearl River, NY, died peacefully on Sunday, May 12, 2019, Mother's Day, surrounded by her loving family.
Eileen (Nana) was born in the beautiful village of Cornamona, Co. Galway, Ireland and arrived in Astoria, Queens in the late 1950s. There she met her husband, Michael N Moloney with whom she raised their 4 children in Jackson Heights, New York.
Eileen especially loved the Four Green Fields, Accord, New York. She would be on the FGF throughout the year especially during the summer months. Famous for her legendary hunting dinners in the depths of Winter and her warm welcome to anyone in need. She was mother and grandmother to all the kids of the FGF and all were welcome for morning pancakes and syrup. She always had an open door policy and loved her accordion, playing every sports day parade and at any given opportunity. Singing songs into the wee hours with friends and strangers, her love of traditional Irish music kept her strongly bonded to her beautiful memories of growing up in the breathtaking Connemara region of Ireland. As she said countless times "I love the Four Green Fields and all my friends there".
Eileen (Nana) shared her love with everyone and is survived by her loving children Noel, his wife Helen, Annmarie, her wife Carol, Geraldine, Tricia her husband Enda, her son in law Mark and her seven grandchildren Michael, Saoirse, Liam, Eoghan, Niall, Stephen and Gavin.
Nana loved her other child Loki (woof woof).
She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Michael N Moloney (NYPD). Her accordion will be silenced but the music she played, songs she sang and stories she told will be with us all forever.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Thursday at St. Catharine R.C.Church, Blauvelt, NY. Visiting is Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Eileen’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
