Edward Sheridan, age 58, passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 5, 2023 leaving his friends and family heart broken.
Ed is predeceased by his parents, Lillian and Fred Sheridan, and his sister Patricia Sheridan Suarez.
Ed’s story begins in Pearl River where he was a lifelong resident. Ed graduated from Albertus Magnus High School in 1983. Following graduation, he pursued a career in the auto repair industry. Always learning, he had to not only know what something did but how it was made. This goes back to his childhood taking toys apart and rebuilding, never needing instructions, always curious.
Ed was a Master Technician in general auto repair, restoration, collision, towing and recovery, computers and automotive technology. Many knew him from Skyview Service where he worked for over 16 years. In 2018 he traded in his wrench and was hired as a Facilities Inspector for the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles.
Ed was a survivalist by nature, always prepared for a tornado or a zombie apocalypse. His inquisitive intellect drove his many passions and pursuits. Whatever he did he was all in. In 2017 he graduated from the Citizen’s Academy, New York Bureau of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He was a certified open water diver enjoying many trips with friends. He was also a long time member of the APA (amateur pool league).
Ed was also involved in Rockland County local politics and government, giving his time to fund raising and local committees, including Cupon of Chestnut Ridge (Citizens United to Protect Our Neighborhoods).
Ed relished tradition and loved the holidays. Family game of Krik Krak was very competitive. Ed’s friends were family, always giving of himself whenever he could. Ed was an all around good guy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him and his best friend Henry.
Ed is survived by his niece, Romina Suarez Marshall (RJ), grand nieces, Liliana and Danelia, niece, Shay Paniagua, his beloved Henry, cousins, Eileen Barrett, Mickey Greene, Maureen Shafer, Stacy Aven, Elizabeth Shanker and many, many friends.
Rest in Peace MacGyver, you are missed.
