Dorothy M. McLinskey (née Schulz), of Pearl River, NY, a resident for 60 years, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at CareOne in Westwood, NJ. She was 90 years old.
Born on September 12, 1935, in Middle Village, Queens, NY. Dorothy was the daughter of Eunice and Oscar Schulz. She graduated from the Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital School of Nursing at New York Medical College and went on to build a long and meaningful career as a Registered Nurse. Dorothy worked for many years at Elmwood Manor Nursing Home in Nanuet, NY, where she retired as a Nurse Manager. Known for her compassion and dedication, she cared deeply for her patients and colleagues alike.
After retirement, Dorothy continued her lifelong commitment to helping others. She volunteered in her community, often arriving early in the mornings to assist at the soup kitchen in Spring Valley. Locally, she was a devoted member of Nauraushaun Presbyterian Church in Pearl River.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Susan Sanchez of Pearl River, NY; Karen Pfleging and her husband Edward of Oradell, NJ; Joan Rosenblum and her husband Jared of Pearl River, NY; and Terence E. McLinskey Jr. and his wife Laura of Pearl River, NY. She is also survived by her treasured grandchildren: Anthony Sanchez, Katy Sanchez, Victoria Gsell (Eric), Julia Pfleging, Alexandra Marini (Matthew), Caroline Sullivan (Matthew), Jillian Leary, Griffin Leary, Ryan McLinskey, Liam McLinskey, and Grace McLinskey; and her great-granddaughter, Sailor Marini.
She is further survived by her sisters-in-law Kathy McLinskey of Orient, NY, and Kathleen Schulz of Georgia, along with many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Terence E. McLinskey Sr., her brother, John Schulz, and her son-in-law Joe B. Sanchez.
Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness, selflessness, humility, and unwavering commitment to her family, faith, and community.
