Conrad Taylor Obituary

Conrad C Taylor, a resident of Nanuet New York, passed away on Christmas Day, 2024 at the Tolstoy Foundation Nursing Center, Valley Cottage.  He was born in 1949 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City, son of Edward and Mary Taylor of New Rochelle.

He was a frugal man, growing his own vegetables and foraging for mushrooms and berries, and a firm believer in healthy foods and exercise.  HIs great love was travel and hiking, taking him through all of the local parks and preserves, throughout New England and into Wyoming and the Dakotas.  He would travel with kayak and bicycle and his beloved camera, sharing his experiences through his pictures.  He embodied the National Parks slogan “take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints.”

Conrad is survived by a brother and sister.  The family wishes to thank the wonderful people of United Hospice of Rockland for the personal care they provided Conrad during his illness.  We also thank the parish of St. John’s Church in the Wilderness for giving him the strength to deal with his destiny.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
