Concetta Marcocci

Concetta Marcocci passed away on Tuesday June 15, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital with her daughters and son-in-law at her side; she was 97.  She was preceded in death by her husband Carmine and 10 siblings. She is survived by her two beloved daughters, son in law, grandchildren and their spouses, and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Born in Italy, she came to America in search of a better life for herself and her children.  She met the challenges of life head on and with great strength, resolve, and grace.  The example she set for her children and grandchildren instilled in them a strong work ethic and the importance of family.  Her smile was infectious, and she was filled with kindness and compassion.  Always a nurturer, she was skilled at and enjoyed cooking and gardening.  She always knew exactly what was needed to keep her plants growing and healthy, and seemed to be able to grow anything!  Every meal she made was perfectly delicious, and no matter how hard we tried to replicate her homemade gravy, pasta or meatballs, her recipes could not be duplicated.  Sunday dinners would always be full of family, fun, food, and Nonna kicking our butts in a game of Scopa! She was loved by many, and will be sorely missed.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, in Nanuet, NY. Interment will follow at St. Anthony's Church Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations in her memory to your favorite charity.  Visitation will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. in Pearl River, NY.
