Catherine “Cáit” Dowd of the Bronx, NY,

Catherine passed away on February 25, 2026 surrounded by family. Catherine was born on March 23, 1938 to John Dowd and Nora Sullivan Dowd in Clounsharraugh, Cloghane, County Kerry, Ireland. She moved to New York City in 1957 where she worked at Equitable Life. She is survived by her niece, Ann (Brian) McRory, and nephews John Lovett, Patrick (Karen) O’Sullivan, Owen (Tisha) O’Sullivan, and David (Geri) O’Sullivan. She is predeceased by her sisters Mary Dowd of County Kerry, Ireland, Hannah Dowd of London, England, Bridget “Bridie” O’Sullivan of Yonkers, NY, Noreen Lovett of Pearl River, NY, and brothers, Patrick Dowd and Matthew Dowd of County Kerry Ireland. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10AM Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at St. Aedan R.C. Church, Pearl River.  Visiting is Monday, March 2, 2026 from 4PM to 7PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc. Cait will be interred in The Cloghane Old Burial Ground in County Kerry Ireland.
