Carol Zara

Carol Zara, a long term resident of  Pearl River, NY passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 at Good Samaritan Hospital with her family by her side.  She was 84 years old.

Carol was born in Manhattan, NY on December 23, 1939 to Michael and Nettie Catanzaro. She later moved to the Bronx, NY where she raised her family with her husband Sonny before relocating to Pearl River, NY.

Carol was predeceased by her parents and younger sister Barbara as well as her husband Sonny. She is survived by her son Frank (Margaret), daughter Lori (John) and daughter Diane (Ray). She was a cherished grandmother of Lauren (Carlos), Jillian (Conor), Diana, Gabriella and Anthony.  She also was a beloved great-grandmother to Valentina and Luca. 

A memorial funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Margaret of Antioch Church, located at 115 W Central Ave, Pearl River, NY, 10965. Burial to follow at St. Raymond’s Cemetery Bronx, NY.

Family truly meant everything to her. She will be remembered by her kindness and generosity. Carol will be deeply missed.
