Betty L. Caton

Betty Caton, a resident of Pearl River, NY for over 50 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2019.  She was 77. 

Betty worked as a New Construction Senior Account Coordinator for Orange & Rockland Utilities in Mahwah, NJ.  She was a dedicated employee and loved her ORU family.

Betty was born on January 30,1942 in Buffalo, NY to Wayne & Dorothy Hughes.

She graduated from Miami-Dade HS.  Betty eventually moved to Pearl River with her family where she met her husband Ellsworth and were married June 6, 1964.  After retirement Betty enjoyed spending time with her husband until his passing.  Even though the last two years were challenging for her she still enjoyed going to church until she was physically unable.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.   Whether it was going out to lunch or watching their games, getting ice cream or going on vacation, these were the moments that she treasured.

Betty is survived by her son, Jeff (Robbin) of Bardonia, NY, daughter, Karen (Denis) Fleming of Pearl River and son, Scott (Julie), of Nanuet, NY.

Along with 11 grandchildren, Charlotte, Ricky, Denis, Reagan, Christian, Tyler, Marin, Emily, Kyle, Christopher and Samantha. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanette Velez of Buffalo, NY and brother, Dennis Hughes of Syracuse, NY and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Ellsworth and beloved daughter, Cece, sister, Carol and brother Sonny.

A Mass of Christian burial is 10:00 AM Wednesday August 14, 2018 at St. Margaret Church in Pearl River. Burial will follow at Rockland Cemetery Sparkill, NY. Visiting hours are Tuesday August 13, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc.
