Bernice Zoeller Obituary

Bernice C. Keefe Scales, 92, of Naples, Florida, passed away on November 17th peacefully at Physicians Regional Hospital after a short illness. She went peacefully and was surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Bernice was born on April 12, 1930, to Marybelle Ellwood Keefe and Harry Keefe. In 1950 she married George Scales and went on to have three children: Gia Dyer (Naples, FL), Cynthia Saenz (Menifee, CA) and Michel Scales (East Islip, NY). In 1968, Bernice, George and their three children moved from Blauvelt to Newburgh to be closer to the new Omega Concrete plant.
Bernice was predeceased by her husband George Scales, mother Marybelle Ellwood Keefe, father Harry Keefe, brother Ellwood Keefe, brother Tim Keefe, sister Mary Francis Babcock, sister Agnes Fisher, brother Robert Keefe, brother Buddy Keefe, brother Vincent Keefe and nephews Tommy Babcock and Michael Keefe.  She is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Bernice enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family and her friends. She also volunteered at her children’s schools, Mt. St Mary Convent and within her community.
Calling hours will be from 9 am to 11 am on November 30, 2022 at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home.  A mass will be said at St. Anthony’s Church in Nanuet at 11:30 am
Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude, an organization she felt strongly about.
